Get Over Grumpy

Grumpiness is a condition that affects us all from time to time. Fortunately, the most effective solution for overcoming grumpiness and opting for happiness is surprisingly straightforward—it’s called Clearing. Clearing involves removing the incessant internal dialogue created by your mind from your consciousness. This mental chatter, filled with unnecessary worry and fear, is frequently the cause of grumpiness.

How to achieve clearing (and get over grumpy)

  • Jot down every thought swirling in your mind that's weighing you down. Once you've transferred all these thoughts onto paper, crumple it up and discard it.

  • Reach out to a friend, asking if you can share what's happening with you, with the understanding that they don't need to provide solutions. They're merely there to listen... there's nothing to solve. They offer a safe space to eliminate mental chatter.

  • Use a "Trouble Tree," a specific spot where you leave all the day's troubles behind before entering your home and reuniting with your family.

  • Create an imaginary box in your mind, where you can mentally deposit everything making you grumpy.

  • Clearing can also manifest through physical activity. Consider the sense of accomplishment and mental (as well as physical) relief that comes from lifting weights or engaging in an intense workout session when you're cranky. This kind of exhilaration is what clearing can bring!

The ultimate way to get past grumpiness, whether through mental clearing or physically releasing negative energy, is clearing! So, for anyone feeling grumpy, you now have an effective tool to dissolve those cranky feelings. If you choose not to use it, you're deciding to remain grumpy. That doesn’t feel good, does it? Why not choose to clear when you find yourself becoming someone you don’t want to be! Remember: You have control over the outcome of your life; you can choose to be happy or grumpy. What's your choice?
