Being Present to What Matters Most
Yesterday I couldn’t help but notice parents and their children wading through the school supply aisles of the store. Supply lists in hand and carts weighed down, the stress was palpable. So many people take the back-to-school stress on like a badge of honor, but what are you missing when you choose to be stressed? The joy of a kindergartner picking out their first lunchbox. The pride a 5th grader feels when they accomplish labeling their own supplies. The hug your teenager needs to help calm their freshman nerves. It may sound cliche, but… your children are only children once. Choose to slow down, give up being stressed, and be present to the moments you share. You won’t regret it.Just a thought.
