Get Into Action and Have a Great New Year!

Without question, this year has been one of the most difficult in a while. Everyone is being more cautious than ever, some are more fearful than ever. However, it is important to remember – especially as we start a New Year – that managing the changes you face is key to successfully riding any wave of change that crashes at your door. And, managing change is often about sorting out what your heart says, with what your brain is telling you too!9 year old Kaitlyn (my assistant’s daughter) is locked in a battle between her heart and her head. Her head is telling her that it is time to be more grown up, spread her wings, dress in anything other than what her Mom and Dad says looks nice, and she’s determined to make the leap. Her heart on the other hand says, “I want to make Mom and Dad happy.” Kaitlyn, through tears, actually spoke her feelings about this dilemma to her mother, and her mother said, “Kaitlyn, you need to do what makes you happy,” and even with permission to do what Kaitlyn said she wanted to do, this 9 year old was literally distraught over what to do.Yes, Katilyn’s dilemma is mild compared to the grown up issues we face. However, it does illustrate the battle we’re all so frequently locked in to, but unable to verbalize. You see, what often occurs like confusion, fear, frustration, and worry, is this battle between our hearts and our heads. So tell me, what battle is going on between your heart and your head? What changes do you need to make in order to manage the bigger changes ahead of you; what are you putting off; what things does your heart not want to face; what do you want, but think you can’t have?Yes, these are heavy questions, but what better time to get straight about what you want, where you are going, and how you are getting there than the New Year? You’ve heard this from me 1000 times, but I’m going to say it again, and I want you to really hear it…

YOU ARE THE ONLY PERSON WHO HAS A SAY IN HOW YOUR LIFE TURNS OUT!

Yes, how you get to where you are going, the time it takes to get where you are going, the tools you have at your disposal to get where you are going, etc. will all change and possibly be determined by the circumstances around you, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get there!!You can do anything you believe you can do, and the keys to going from believing to making it happen are:

  • Settle the battle between your head and your heart; get clear about what you do and don’t want!
  • Manage the changes before you; refuse to be a victim of them!
  • Create a plan that keeps you focused on your vision!
  • Ask for help whenever and where ever you need it!
  • Create the team you will allow to hold you accountable for doing all the things you know you have to do, that you don’t ever do and then let your team hold you accountable for doing it!
  • Be clear and complete in your communications!
  • Have an outrageous team beside you!
  • Allow your team to hold you accountable for doing the things you know you have to do, but instead live in the land of “I’ll get to it!”
  • Never give up, never give up, and never give up!

My best to you for an outrageous, happy, healthy, love filled New Year!Warm Regards,claysig_2
